Barça Ready for First Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday
Barça revealed they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome the Basque side in domestic competition two and a half years after they moved out so building work could begin.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside under the licence granted. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed finished work included a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.
Recent Activities
The club conducted a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch on 7 November. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht next month at the stadium. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
