Expedition 33 Dominates at the 2025's Golden Joystick Ceremony
The forty-third annual Golden Joystick Awards were hosted this past week, and in a stunning display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the most decorated winner. This surprise role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive secured the coveted Game of the Year award, along with honors for Outstanding Narrative and Excellence in Visuals.
Complementing the studio's achievements, its skilled actors also received individual awards. Jennifer English was named Top Lead Actor for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Supporting Performance Award for his role as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive itself was named Best Development Team. Altogether, Clair Obscur and its developers achieved seven awards throughout the ceremony.
Additional standout winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Best Audio Design and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and Premier PC Title. Worth mentioning, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the public, with only 4 special—Critics’ Choice, Breakthrough Award, Hall of Fame, and Streamers' Favorite—decided by experts.
